As the official 3D partner for the Virtual Reality conference Laval Virtual (held March 20th – 24th in Laval, France), leading French company Volfoni will take the opportunity to showcase their new VR 3D glasses: the EDGETM VR. At this show, more than 10 VR professionals will be using Volfoni’s 3D technologies.
With the ability to synchronize by infra-red and radio frequency, these glasses have the functionality that meets the needs of demanding professionals in the Virtual Reality market, especially to avoid interference from other types of electronics.
RF control can be done via computer in real time by remote control, providing more flexibility to the user. In addition, these glasses are electronically programmable, have a rechargeable battery, a multi-function button and an IR mode compatible with most standard IR protocols. The RF mode makes synchronization particularly efficient in terms of head-tracking.
Newly born from the line of EDGETM active 3D glasses which solidified Volfoni’s reputation, the EDGETM VR also benefits from the same strengths as the other EDGE frames: lightweight, with a universal nosepiece, three sizes of arms, and a glass quality approved by major Hollywood studios.
“At a time when others have abandoned Virtual Reality and RF glasses, we are proud to support our VR technology partners with this new product,” says Bernard Mendiburu, Vice President Professional Markets at Volfoni.
Indeed, when paired with the perfect size of RF transmitters and IR trackers, the EDGE VR represents a new step for 3D in Virtual Reality, and makes Volfoni a major player in this market. The product has already been adopted by market leaders such as ART and Viscom.
For more information about this product, meet the team at Volfoni’s booth, #AB20 at Laval Virtual. In addition, on Friday morning March 22nd at 10am, Volfoni’s Bernard Mendiburu will give a presentation on combining Virtual Reality applications with stereoscopic 3D.
